Our  volunteers are so important, and we couldn't operate North Place Maternity House without them. If this sounds like something you would like to do, consider volunteering and changing lives! We need volunteers to help the residents with daily needs, to run errands, and to be mentors.

Volunteer Jobs and descriptions:

  • Mentor: As a friend, a mentor shall listen, build trust, socialize and provide transportation to and from appointments, school, or job as needed.

  • Chaplain: The Chaplain visits the hospital, visits the houses regularly, conducts Bible Study, prays for the residents, and fills in as needed.

  • Secretary: The secretary does the paperwork for the ministry.

  • Maintenance: As a volunteer, the maintenance director takes care of the facility.

  • House Parent Assistant: As a volunteer, an assistant house parent shall step in to support and to assist the House Parent as needed to be a prayer partner, a sounding board, and as a substitute when the House Parent has personal appointments and responsibilities.

  • Education Tutors: As a volunteer, an educational tutor shall assists with homework as our women residents study for their GED and/or vocational certifications.

  • Volunteers: As a volunteer, North Place will need assistance with the following areas of service:
    1) As a handyman
    2) As a driver
    3) As a mentor for life skills (housekeeping, laundry, etc.) and banking, check writing,
    and budgeting
    4) As an organizer of donations of clothes and goods as well as keeping an up-to-date inventory

  • Committee of 8-10: Volunteers to meet and to organize fundraisers, promotions, banquets, research for grants, and grant writers

  • Prayer Team (duties):
    1) Pray for needs and concern of North Place
    2) Find and communicate need to volunteers
    3) To encourage worship for what God has accomplished through the ministry

  • Love and Care Committee: Volunteers to assist the mother when she gets out of the hospital after having the baby. She may need assistance taking care of the baby, assuring her and helping her build confidence, or watching the baby while she rests and gets her strength back.
